Vladka’s Letter

Vladka Meed in 1989

Vladka Meed was a member of the Jewish resistance in Nazi-occupied Warsaw, serving as a courier between the ghetto and the Aryan side. After the war she recounted her experiences in the book On Both Sides of the Wall. She then dedicated herself to educating young people about the Holocaust. We interviewed Vladka in 1989 on the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the war. She later attended one of our teacher education workshops. We received this letter from her in 2003.
